In the Making: Episode 1
Jun 16, 2015
In the Making is a podcast about the origin stories of UX designers.
Most of the people I know who work on websites started their career in some other industry or discipline. For instance, I am a content strategist who got my start in nonprofit administration. I know plenty of content strategy and information architects who started as librarians. As a whole, we are a pretty ragtag bunch.
But as the disciplines of the web evolve, more and more young people are arriving in user experience roles on purpose—with knowledge, focus, and formal training.
To get to the bottom of how education in user experience is changing, we talked with two recent college graduates and new Centerline UXers about their experience learning about UX in college, and pursing careers in web design.
