RemixIT with Watson

“The data that flows around us and through our devices is mostly invisible. We see manifestations of this data on our screens, but we don’t hear it. IBM Systems Worldwide wanted to showcase the sound of modern IT innovation.”
– Adam Good, associate creative director, Centerline Digital
IBM Systems wants to transform the way you think about modern IT – exchanging server rooms and clunky hardware with world-changing innovations.
Enter Tim Exile. Why not use the sounds from data centers across the globe to change the way people think about IT? While many brands have done campaigns sampling various things, the partnership with Exile would make IBM’s project stand out at the forefront of music and tech innovation.
“The cool thing about Tim is that he’s not your average musician – he’s truly an innovator and technologist at heart. That’s what really attracted us to him,” said Megan Fitzgerald, senior project manager at Centerline.
We brought in Exile to create a track using the sounds of different IBM data centers across the globe – from Montpellier, France to Beijing, China. The project was launched today at IBM’s Edge conference in Las Vegas.
Check out Exile’s final track, listen to the sonified case studies, and create your own beat using RemixIT with Watson here. We’d love to jam to the tracks you’ve created, so share them with us on Twitter!
