Centerline100 – Giving More Than 100 Days of Service
Jun 5, 2015
Last year, we celebrated a huge company milestone – 100 Centerliners. To support employees’ ongoing efforts to make a positive impact in Raleigh, we decided to launch 100+100. The program provided us with a stronger connection to Centerline and to our community.
To continue this, we’ve decided to collectively give more than 100 days of service locally with Centerline100. Centerliners can volunteer at the organization of their choice or one we’ve partnered with, including Habitat for Humanity, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, The Green Chair Project and more.
Our goal is to reach beyond 100 days of service by the end of the year. Also part of the volunteer program, Centerline will match 100% of charitable donations made by employees.
Giving back is a part of who we are. Centerline100 shows the heart and the attitude of Centerliners – that we want to make a significant difference in the community around us.
Last year during a day of service, Centerliners Mack, Nathan, Mike, Cory, Brian and Eric got their hands dirty at the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Teaching Farm. The farm aims to develop local self-sufficiency and community power in order to relieve hunger in the area. The day’s tasks, which included gathering eggs from the farm’s four chicken coups and picking green beans, help fund the program.
During 100+100, a group of Centerliners spent the day working with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. The day’s tasks consisted of hammering supports for an attic floor, hanging insulation, laying down tarpaper, all contributing our efforts to Habitat’s mission: A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
