Events: IBM Watson IoT Cognitive Building Forum
Jun 28, 2016
This location was important – actually, it was key. The Watson Internet of Things (IoT) team dreamed up the Cognitive Building Forum to examine how IoT is shaping the way we design, construct, use, maintain and experience the buildings around us.
The Crystal, a Siemens sustainable initiative, is an intelligent building – literally. Pulling data from 3,500+ data points, it manages itself – it controls its own systems to manage the comfort of occupants while simultaneously minimizing costs and environmental impact.
“The Internet of Things has been out there for years but it’s just now taking shape. There are many questions left unanswered,” explains Javier Leiva, associate creative director at Centerline.
“We wanted to create a town hall forum that allowed industry experts to openly talk about the important challenges facing the IoT such as security, privacy and design. This first forum focused on the cognitive building. In the upcoming months, we will continue the conversation to cover how the IoT will affect other settings such as home, retail, vehicles, etc.”
Centerline worked closely with the Watson IoT team to orchestrate the live forum event in London, including pre-produced video, all content featured during the event, creative for the WIRED homepage takeover, as well as the IBM forum landing page.
Then, overnight, the on-site team created a highlight video featured on the WIRED.com homepage takeover.
